Description
Please join us for our annual cycling and sketching tour!
Leave the hustle of the capital behind for an exploration of the gentle rolling landscape of eastern Essex, the Dengie Peninsula between the wide Blackwater and Crouch rivers.
Architectural highlights of this circular ride include:
The remarkable Mangapps Railway Museum, with probably the best collection of Railwayana south of the National Railway Museum in York
St Leonard’s Church in Southminster
A rare Saxon Chapel from the 7th century at the north eastern tip of this peninsula, where the River Blackwater meets the North Sea.
We’ll have abundant opportunities to sketch, swim, and cycle, all finished off with a drink at the quayside in Burnham-on-Crouch.
