Description

Hopkins Architects will present their pioneering design for the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities at the University of Oxford, a landmark project which will be the largest Passivhaus project in England and the only Passivhaus Concert Hall in the world. The talk will explore the innovative strategies behind achieving exceptional energy performance while addressing the complex spatial, cultural, and acoustic needs of a world-class academic community. Particular emphasis will be placed on the integration of facade prefabrication, airtightness, and passive environmental controls within a highly serviced, flexible building typology, offering valuable lessons for architects working at the intersection of sustainability and large-scale civic architecture.
